Exchanges, cores and warranty

What happens if a part is wrong, arrives damaged, or fails under warranty, and how the core deposit comes back.

Exchanges, not refunds

We exchange parts. We do not refund them. If a part is wrong for your engine or you no longer need it, contact us within 15 days of the invoice date and we will arrange an exchange for the correct part or a credit against another part.

After 15 days we cannot accept an exchange. Call 905-595-0450 or email turbocentre@yahoo.com before sending anything back, so we can confirm the part and tell you where to send it. Parts returned without being arranged first may be refused.

What an exchanged part has to look like

The part has to come back in the condition it went out: unfitted, unmarked, complete, and in its original packaging. A turbocharger that has been bolted to an engine, run, or taken apart cannot be exchanged, because we cannot sell it again as new or as remanufactured.

Who pays the shipping

You pay return shipping on an exchange. We pay the shipping to send the replacement part out to you.

If we sent the wrong part, or it arrived damaged in transit, that is on us: we cover the shipping both ways. Tell us within 48 hours of delivery and keep the packaging, because a freight claim needs it.

Core deposits

Some turbochargers carry a core deposit, shown separately on the product page and on your invoice. It is a deposit, not part of the price of the part, and it comes back to you when your old unit reaches us in rebuildable condition.

A rebuildable core must reach us within 30 days of the invoice for the deposit to come back. Rebuildable means off-engine condition: complete, not stripped for parts, and not damaged beyond rebuilding. Send it back in the box the new one arrived in. The deposit goes back to the card that paid, unless we agree otherwise.

Warranty

Every turbocharger we remanufacture carries a 12-month unlimited-mileage warranty from the invoice date. If a unit fails in that time, call us with the invoice number and the engine serial, and we will tell you how to get it back to us for inspection.

The warranty covers the turbocharger, and nothing else. Our liability is limited to repairing or replacing the unit, at Turbo Centre, where we deem the failure warrantable. It does not cover labour, other parts, towing, or a vehicle being off the road.

The warranty does not apply where the failure came from:

  • improper installation or alteration
  • misuse or neglect
  • unauthorised disassembly
  • physical damage caused from outside the unit

A claim also needs the cause fixed, not just the turbo replaced. Most heavy-duty turbo failures come from oil supply, oil contamination, or something loose upstream, and a replacement fitted to the same fault fails the same way. We will ask what was found.

Your legal rights

Nothing on this page takes away rights you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act or other Canadian consumer law, including where goods are not delivered or are not as described.

Before you buy

Most exchanges start as a fitment question, so we would rather answer it first. Send us the number stamped on your old unit and your engine serial and we will confirm the part before it ships. See the shipping policy for delivery times and freight.
